Broward County Promotes Employee WellBeing
Broward County places high importance on enhancing the financial, emotional and physical wellbeing of its employees. In partnership with its healthcare provider, UnitedHealthcare, the County makes available to all employees the benefits of a wellness program that includes a network of onsite Wellness Resource Centers, a “WellBeing website” and comprehensive online wellness program with educational opportunities, and interactive employee activities and team challenges offering incentives for participation.
The American Heart Association has recognized Broward County nationally as a Fit Friendly company, and awarded special recognition for Worksite Innovation. Nearly 50 percent of the workforce has participated in at least one wellness initiative to earn rewards and achieve personalized goals in education, prevention, fitness and healthy living.
