Why This Role Matters

The Lead Worker - Utility provides direction and supervision to trash, restroom, and fire stairwell crews while helping maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned areas. Monitors work quality, equipment use, and adherence to safety policies and contract requirements.

What You Will Do



  • Direct and monitor trash, restroom, and fire stairwell crews to ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Respond to liquid spills, remove trash and waste materials, and transport materials to designated disposal areas.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, recycle rooms, service elevators, cleaning closets, storage areas, and other assigned work areas.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and other surfaces, including removing carpet spots using approved equipment and products.
  • Receive, count, store, and replenish custodial supplies needed for daily operations.
  • Monitor proper use of equipment and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and contract requirements, and report concerns or safety issues to supervisors.
  • Operate power equipment and assist with snow removal and other inclement weather needs as required.
  • Complete required paperwork and training while fostering positive teamwork, quality work, and appropriate workplace conduct.
