As Vice President of Software Engineering Delivery, you will own the delivery strategy for Medica's core platforms-the systems that power our health plans, revenue-driving lines, and claims administration. These platforms are the backbone of our member and provider experience, and your leadership will define how we innovate and scale.

The Vice President of Software Engineering Delivery leads all delivery teams within software engineering for the main business functions of Medica and it's health plans, including the main revenue driving lines, and the claims administration; essentially the core capabilities within Medica. This role oversees product development and the engineering teams. This role involves forming and maintaining high-level relationships across the organization to prioritize and drive initiatives. The VP is responsible for driving the evolution and transformation of Medica's most critical software platforms that serve members, providers, and employees. It includes oversight of software engineering vendors and sourcing strategies as appropriate. The VP will set the software delivery strategy and drive its execution with a focus on cross-functional alignment, program and product execution, delivery excellence, and engineering team performance. This position requires strong leadership, technological expertise, software delivery experience, and a commitment to excellence. The VP interfaces with all levels of management throughout the organization on various technology-related issues. This role is critical to business operations and provider collaboration, with a direct impact on the member experience.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
  • 15 years experience in technology, with at least 8 years in leadership roles providing strategic planning and overall accountability of infrastructure and cloud, operations and integration


Skills and Abilities



  • Software Development: Proficiency in software development methodologies and practices, including Agile and DevOps
  • Programming Languages: Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL
  • Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, including cloud architecture and deployment
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): In-depth knowledge of SDLC processes and best practices
  • Enterprise Architecture: Ability to design and implement enterprise-level software solutions
  • Project Management: Strong skills in software project management, including planning, execution, and delivery
  • Integration Strategy: Proven experience in developing and executing integration strategies for various software applications
  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage execution, and drive technological innovation


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI.

The full base pay salary range for this position is $260,000-$390,000. Annual base pay salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and or licensures, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.

In addition to base compensation, this position is eligible for Medica's Short Term Incentive plan, Long Term Incentive plan and our Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan.
