Margin Planning Analyst

PURPOSE

As the Margin Planning Analyst, you will support key processes in pricing, costing, and margin planning across the North America market. Your role will focus on executing reporting, coordinating planning cycles, and assisting with data analysis to ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial insights. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Merchandising, and other cross-functional teams to help ensure process consistency and reliable business tracking aligned with financial targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Margin Planning Support


  • Assist in preparing seasonal and fiscal margin reports to support different planning cycles (e.g., IBP, RFC, Budget)
  • Coordinate data consolidation across systems and teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support margin tracking and reporting by developing and enhancing tools to support scenario analysis, transparency on margin drivers, margin bridging outputs & decisionmaking.
  • Help prepare materials and summaries for seasonal margin reviews and leadership presentations.
  • Track key performance indicators (e.g., Gross Margin, Standard Margin, Cost of Sales) and flag deviations from plan.


Pricing Coordination



  • Update pricing trackers and maintain documentation related to seasonal and in-season pricing changes.
  • Support data collection and scenario simulations to evaluate pricing decisions.
  • Assist with execution of the NAM pricing approval process and ensure compliance documentation is maintained.
  • Work with internal teams to gather input and ensure alignment across pricing calendars and tools.

Costing Administration


  • Analyse and simulate costing impacts to support range planning, financial planning and to maximize profitability; provide recommendations, risks & opportunities, and decision support.
  • Develop or enhance tools, systems & reporting needed to support robust preseason and inseason analysis, tracking and transparency across market.
  • Coordinate updates to costing systems (e.g., SAP/RAD) and validate data accuracy.
  • Track seasonal product cost developments and compare against benchmarks or historicals.
  • Support execution of the TradeCo costing process by preparing and reviewing input templates; including uploading bi-weekly Pricelist updates to RAD/SAP.
  • Assist in consolidating costing inputs across U.S. and Canadian teams for a unified view.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles; exposure to P&L concepts is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Bi and SQL; exposure to SAP is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage recurring tasks under tight deadlines.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, industrial engineering or other quantitative major
  • 0-2 years of experience in Planning, Finance, or Business Operations
  • Internship or project experience in retail, consumer goods, or financial analysis is a plus.
