The School of Social Ecology has marshaled its interdisciplinary expertise to focus on areas including global environmental degradation, poverty and other forms of inequality, prison overcrowding and gang violence in California, healthy child development, challenges faced by an aging population, health risks and community empowerment. These efforts have made the School of Social Ecology a national leader in applying basic theory and empirical research to a range of complex societal problems. Your Role on the Team

The Social Impact Hub, which fosters innovative research, community engagement, and policy development for social change, seeks a dynamic and motivated individual with experience in event coordination, research, policy, communications, and program administration. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean, the Social Impact Hub Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and enhancing the Hub's activities. This includes developing interdisciplinary programs that encourage grant-writing and research, amplifying the Hub's work through policy outreach, tracking and connecting upcoming state/local legislative agendas with faculty, and communications across traditional and social media platforms, and managing the Hub's website. Additionally, the coordinator will identify and support new research opportunities, foster collaboration among faculty and stakeholders, promote the Hub's visibility both within the institution and in broader academic and policy communities, and manage administrative and grant-related tasks. A key responsibility will be the coordination and execution of events that further the Hub's mission and community engagement goals.

This is 100% FTE contract position that will be renewed annually contingent upon funding.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $70,000- $80,000 ().

Required:

  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Strong policy analysis techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 1-3 years
