Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY

The purpose of this role is to ensure the execution of the daily maintenance activities in support of the business objectives with zero safety or environmental incidents.They are responsible for the development of the maintenance technicians as a team in alignment with company values and production objectives. This position ensures the accurate and timely maintenance of operational assets by the approval and screening of work requests and development of maintenance work schedules to meet asset requirements. This role is also responsible for the development of planned packages for maintenance work based on priorities set by the organization and serves as the SME for the maintenance workflow process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Pro-actively co-manages the operations maintenance controllable budget
  • Review new Notifications daily, manage, approve and prioritize these notifications
  • Review backlog of new Work Orders weekly to confirm priorities for planning
  • Create planned Work Orders
  • Develop and own Daily and Weekly Maintenance Schedules
  • Scope development and requisitioning of Contractors executing routine Maintenance overload and/or supplemental work
  • Promote quality job execution and scheduling adherence
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment: repair, technical specifications, job safety/ environmental requirements, and execution work flow process
  • Ensure Work Order technical information is complete for work execution
  • Create or edit Task lists when applicable for repetitive work
  • Identify Bill of Materials updates and corrections
  • Verify that all operations that were completed have been correctly confirmed and identified as complete in SAP
  • Compare Plan to Actual results to make improvements in job planning
  • Responsible for PM and Inspection compliance
  • Facilitate weekly schedule review meetings
  • Confirm finalized schedule for next week
  • Assign planned work orders/packages to maintenance crafts
  • Assign emergency/break-in work to maintenance crafts
  • Review Orders to ensure all proper documentation and history has been filled out
  • Ensure all operations have been completed and confirmed
  • Technically complete Work Orders after all time has been charged and information has been confirmed in SAP
  • Follow and support Work Management Process
  • Field oversite of Contractors executing routine Maintenance overload work
  • Liaison with Engineering, Production and Logistics
  • Must be able to, on occasion, fill in for craftsmen

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred
  • 10 Years Maintenance/Craftsman Experience
  • Operational Experience preferred
  • 5 years or progressive relief supervisory experience
  • Experience planning maintenance work and coordinating with operations
  • Must have experience leading, developing and supporting a team of craft personnel
  • Must have experience managing contractor personnel
  • Must have and maintain applicable craft certifications
  • Technical Experience developed from work experience
  • Experience with SAP or similar program preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of complex processing requirements of chemical plants
  • Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and control processes and technology
  • Good Excel Spreadsheet skills
  • Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
