We are seeking a skilled BMS (Building Management System) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will monitor and operate building automation systems, ensure energy-efficient operations, and collaborate with various technical teams to maintain optimal facility performance. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills and can quickly identify and resolve system issues.
Responsibilities Monitor and operate BAS for all supported facilities, including chiller plants, compressed air plants, AHUs, and ancillary systems Ensure systems operate within specified parameters (temperature, humidity, static pressure, amps, etc.) Adjust systems to maintain area specifications and adapt to plant conditions Generate and review trends and reports Coordinate with M&O team (technicians, mechanics, and electricians) to troubleshoot and restore failed systems Adjust operating parameters as requested by clients or system owners, with approval for certain set points Support site management, BAS Engineer, and M&O personnel in commissioning, maintenance, and daily operations Collaborate with BMS SMEs on improvements, repairs, and operations Assist in installing and repairing field devices, smart components, digital networks, and automation devices Work with vendors on projects and maintenance Enter detailed work orders to assist technicians in problem-solving Perform other assigned duties as required The successful candidate will demonstrate the following traits: Team-oriented Safety-conscious Reliable Adaptable to change Proactive Diligent Flexible in approach to environmental controls Qualifications Minimum requirements: 3+ years of experience in operating and maintaining a building automation system (BAS) A strong knowledge and broad understanding of building automation system fundamentals Knowledge in Bacnet components, air valves, exhaust fans, hot water coils, setting trends in the BAS system, temp/humidity sensors, thermostats, air duct fire sensors, building static pressure Preferred requirements: 2+ years of technical school or equivalent Knowledge of basic HVAC equipment and how it is controlled and alarmed in an industrial/commercial environment Ability to read and understand system Logic A working knowledge and understanding of automation system architecture (head end vs. local controllers and the overall Ability to effectively communicate with maintenance personnel as well as external client groups. Must be able to see projects through to the end and on time if needed Working knowledge of CMMS for work order system Ability to remain calm and in control when multiple alarm situations arise. Ability to learn new concepts and ideas quickly Must have strong written and verbal communications skills to effectively communicate with all customers Basic knowledge of Excel and Word software programs Ability to climb ladders in order to access equipment mounted above the ceiling or other high areas Strong troubleshooting skills Letters of recommendation a plus but not required |
