What is the Opportunity?

The RBC Capital Markets Macro QIS Structuring team designs and markets systematics trading strategies and solutions to global institutional clients covering Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Pensions Funds, Endowments, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Insurance Companies. Strategy solutions range from delta-1 and volatility products wrapped in indices, RBC Notes, or options. We are currently expanding our expertise to further enhance systematic trading strategy products in in Commodities, Rates, Foreign Exchange, Credit and Multi-Asset.

What will you do?

  • Review and evaluate existing strategies to develop cutting-edge, next generation products.
  • Research and engineer differentiated Macro systematic trading strategies in collaboration with Sales, Quant, Research and Trading teams.
  • Develop presentation material to articulate the construction, implementation, rationale and key characteristics of strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with sales teams and clients to discuss strategy performance and the merits of systematics trading strategies.
  • Customize strategies to meet specific client needs and address their concerns.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Structuring to pinpoint client-centric solutions and products to market.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Proven experience in researching, developing, and maintaining systematic trading strategies in Commodities, FX, Rates, Credit or Cross-Asset.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python preferred) as well as Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and warren, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in financial markets.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments and their impacts on quantitative investment strategies

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $155,000- $195,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
