The Denveroffice of SmithGroupis looking for aSenior Project Managerto join our team.

Working with us, you will:



  • Manage one or more projects by negotiating project scope, fees, job production and quality, fee management and collection, monitoring project accounts as well as establishing and executing project work plans. Manage whole or portions of large-sized projects.
  • Develop and manage positive client relationships and work as the client's advocate by identifying and balancing client expectations within the context of contractual obligations, corporate goals, and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate with all project participants, internal staff, consultants, clients, owners, contractors and jurisdictions in an effective and collaborative manner.
  • Develop and define project schedule to meet contractual obligations and to match team size and skill. Establish and update project staffing requirements, on an ongoing basis, consistent with contractual obligations.
  • Provide technical and administrative supervision of the multi-disciplinary project staff assuring the technical, administrative and schedule targets are met within the framework of corporate policy and in accordance with applicable professional and corporate standards. Take responsibility for overall client satisfaction, service, quality and financial performance.
  • Manage project communiques, delivery and deliverables to ensure the highest quality of documentation and professionalism.
  • Participate in business development efforts through learning/understanding the national client market, participating in professional organizations, developing thought leadership content, and supporting proposal development and interviews.
  • Partner closely with studio's point-of-contact lead person on projects.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.
  • Assist in the development of new tools and data visualizations.
  • Work closely with data analysts to create detailed space models and perform analyses for clients.



An ideal candidate has:



  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, planning, data science or related fields.
  • Minimum 15years of progressive professional experience.
  • Experience with higher education planning, space management and/or institutional research. Experience with developing migration plans/studies that are informed by data analysis and/or programming information is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of space types and space planning practices in higher education at both building and campus levels.
  • Familiarity with the operational issues and organizational structure of institutions of higher education.
  • Knowledge of data-based information and analytics; familiarity with data visualization software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working in a multi-disciplinary team setting, collaborating, mentoring and client satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Access; experience using Tableau, PowerBI, AI, Archibus (or similar), Revit, AutoCAD, Deltek Vision for financial management, reporting and resource planning preferred.



SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed to meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $129,000 to $179,000 annually, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We provide an opportunity to invest in your future through our401(k) program with employer matching and a continuing educationreimbursement. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, 8 paid federal holidays, and parental leave benefits.
