Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the J Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Handles the administrative work in the Department of Russian and Soviet Nonconformist Art.
  • Prepares and oversees financial documents.
  • Submits travel expense reports for reimbursement.
  • Assists with putting together annual department budgets and tracking the budget.
  • Keeps track of department activities and statistics.
  • Writes special and annual reports.
  • Assists with exhibition and program coordination.
  • Handles mail distributions and department mailing list.
  • Handles graduate assistants' and postdoc's appointment processes, travel needs and schedules.
  • Handles overall office management.
  • Facilitates department purchasing and maintains knowledge of Rutgers Procurement Policy.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelors' degree.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High organizational skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good writing skills in English.
  • Interest in the Russian and Eastern Europe area.
  • Previous experience in a cultural or educational institution an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in office administration and management.
  • Knowledge of Russian.
  • Familiarity with a language from any of the former Soviet Republics.
