Job Objective:
To ensure that adequate well integrity is maintained on all assets and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards. Assist in implementation of administrative systems, procedures, and policies to support effective operation and production of Hilcorp Alaska assets.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Develop, maintain, and ensure standardization for all Alaska Asset Teams' Well Integrity Programs to include monitoring, reporting, processes and procedures.
  • Streamline procedures, employ new technologies, and develop innovative strategies to ensure efficient well integrity operations.
  • Responsible for on-going monitoring of all well integrity data on all wells within the North Slope, Kenai and CIO Asset Teams. Works closely with Operation Engineers and field operations personnel.
  • Work with engineering and operations personnel on any identified well integrity issues or any change in conditions that affect the operation and/or integrity of the well.
  • Assist with the preparation of well integrity test procedures and provides support during well integrity testing operations.
  • Receive, review and update well performance and integrity data in the company database.
  • Be very familiar with state and federal well integrity rules, requirements and reporting procedures.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and systems are compliant and up to date.
  • Utilize well integrity data to assist the Corrosion Engineers in developing and managing the downhole chemical injection procedures and programs.
  • This position requires travel (20%) to field facilities and other offices to establish and maintain a good working rapport with operations personnel

Leadership

  • Provides visible leadership and direction in the development of programs, policies, and procedures, both in the office and in the field. Ensures group objectives are aligned with company vision, mission and values of Integrity, Ownership, Urgency, Alignment, and Innovation.
  • Regularly interacts with Asset Teams to understand impacts to operations, ensure Integrity programs and processes are in alignment, communicate key metrics and demonstrate value.
  • Manage, support and mentor/coach Well Integrity Engineers.
  • Establish minimum standards of regulatory compliance and ensure consistent application.
  • Manage, support, and mentor/coach Regulatory Technicians in performing their administrative duties in support of the Asset Teams.
  • Support Asset Team Leaders and Operations Managers as needed to ensure regulatory compliance and administrative excellence.
  • This position requires a self-motivated, hard-working team player who pays attention to details.

  • Sets and communicates expectations, defines team goals and stretch goals, and holds team accountable for accomplishing goals. Conducts employee performance evaluations and regularly holds 1:1 sessions to enhance employee performance.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting for Integrity and/or Compliance related activities.
  • Manages contracts with service support contract companies, as needed. Negotiates rates and resolves conflicts. Provides feedback to contract companies on performance expectations.
  • Participates in the Company's efforts to interpret and comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Actively engages with regulatory agencies and personnel in an advocacy role for the Company.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Works across multiple teams to identify opportunities for common solutions or tools, and communicate/understand impacts to non-Integrity programs and processes.

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years minimum experience in petroleum industry with strong emphasis in Well Integrity engineering, preferably in Alaska.
  • Have an understanding and experience in well construction, completion design and installations, well performance monitoring, well operational aspects including workover, well intervention (slick wireline operations, logging, fishing, CTU operation), annulus management, corrosion and scale management / control, cement and casing integrity assessment, leak detection surveys and evaluation, and artificial lift systems
  • Experience in Federal and State regulations related to area of discipline, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading technical teams, developing programs, and working across multiple groups.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex computer/information system's information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Sharepoint.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations via large and small planes, helicopter or boat, and ability to don and doff immersion suit.
  • Ability to work in Arctic conditions.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university or college or other equivalent years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specific to well construction and performance monitoring.
