Responsibilities

  • Perform PCT duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager.
  • Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assist in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answer inquiries within the scope of practice.
  • Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assists in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice.
  • May act as the unit's receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepares chart.
  • Order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back.
  • Assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred Job Requirements

  • At least one year of experience
  • Oklahoma Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician
