Description

The Social Media and Event Strategist will develop, lead and implement the social media and public relations strategy for the Marketing Department. Be fully attuned to social media measurement and KPIs, and help craft the creative messaging and execution through the development of the strategy and the content calendar to align with strategic objectives. As a Social Media Strategist, you should have excellent multitasking skills to handle all of our social media accounts in a cohesive way in order to maintain brand integrity while also recognizing how to differentiate content specific to each social media channel. Creative and strategic thinking is critical. A proactive approach to social media implementation is essential as is being willing to work in a collaborative environment. Also, this position will play a key role as it pertains to public relations as social media works as a means to facilitate public relations information, but this person will also need to be open to speaking in public, being the public-facing representative for the Credit Union, and keeping in touch with key media contacts. In addition, this position will require coordination and implementation of community events specific across our footprint. This role will require coordinating with our branch staff and Director of DEI regarding event opportunities, managing the events calendar, and coordinating getting the appropriate materials to the volunteer staff.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Design social media strategies to achieve marketing targets.
  • Report on all social media channel KPIs.
  • Work to optimize and adjust content as needed to reach KPIs.
  • Manage, create, and publish original, high-quality content.
  • Communicate with writers and designers to ensure content is informative and appealing.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on the creation of cutting-edge and innovative content.
  • Facilitate client-company communication (respond to queries, get reviews, and organize chats and Q&A sessions).

  • Stay up-to-date with new digital technologies and social media best practices.
  • Manage and respond to feedback received through social media channels.
  • Develop and create podcast content that aligns with our social media strategy.
  • Work with market media leaders to gain more public relations opportunities for the Credit Union.
  • Stay in tune with DE&I objectives and macro factors that affect the social media landscape and conversation.
  • Coordinate community events within the event calendar and communicate with staff.
  • Integrate event activity and images into content calendars to showcase on social media.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have experience in social media and developing, implementing, and measuring social media strategy and programming.
  • Strong knowledge of social networking, mobile sites, user-generated sites, etc.
  • Experienced builder and executor of online social media strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple production assignments within a demanding project schedule.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor, decisiveness, and professionalism.

Experience: Three to five years of similar or related experience in social media is required.

Education: BA degree in communications, marketing, or public relations.
