Practice Office Associate - Pain Management Dept

Job Responsibility:

• Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls, and if appropriate routes them appropriately.
• Organizes messages and delivers them promptly to the necessary individual.
• Greet patients and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Verify insurance coverage and demographic information.
• Obtain insurance referrals and authorizations.
• Direct patients to appropriate waiting or clinical areas.
• Explain financial obligation to patients or responsible parties and collect. copayments/co-insurance/deductibles as required.
• Facilitate or create appointments for follow-up care, diagnostics procedures, physical therapy, or pain management.
• Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Job Qualification:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
• Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a medical facility or related field.
• Minimum one year experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.

Additional Details:

• Position is for Pain Management department
• Travel may be necessary between offices of: Merrick, Garden City, and Woodbury
• Flexibility to work within the operating hours preferred, (weekdays 8am-8pm, rotating weekends (9am-5pm)
