Coordinate the collaborative work between Intuitive, surgeon providers, perioperative staff, Surgery scheduling, marketing, and various other departments within hospital to evaluate and improve the quality, consistency, efficiency, and cost of Robotic Surgery. Serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, healthcare providers, administration, and other disciplines.

Essential Job Statements:

Targets and supports new surgeons interested in surgical procedures using the daVinci system, as well as existing surgeons using the system through enabling surgeon access and facilitating best in class case support experience.

Serves as main point of contact while coordinating communication between Intuitive and other healthcare professionals.

Works with materials management to inventory and order daVinci surgical instruments and accessories as needed, while maintaining lean par levels.

Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and assessing educational structure, competencies, and needs for surgeons, RNs, Certified Surgical First Assist, and other clinical team members related to robotic surgery. Educates OR staff on updates for new products or changes to the Intuitive system

Coordinates and attends regularly scheduled robotic Steering Committee meetings and Operations Meetings and provides operational updates on the progression of the program

Develops strategies for program growth, to include targeting and supporting new surgeons interested in surgical procedures using the daVinci system

Creates a metric tracking system for robotic cases to set benchmarks and evaluates progress towards the goals in reduction of non-operative time and a more efficient OR workflow. Collaborate with perioperative scheduling department and robotic surgeons to effectively and efficiently schedule robotics cases in robot rooms

Works with OR manager, charge nurse, and nursing staff to make sure robotic rooms are supplied for robotic surgeries, anticipates staffing needs, has training pathway for RNs/CSFAs, etc by providing an in-service, online modules, and case observation

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide equitable care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.

Demonstrates knowledge and related competencies of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age, specific needs and to provide the equitable care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.

Employment Qualifications:

Required Education:

Graduate of a Surgical Technology or Bachelors of Nursing or Masters of Surgical Assisting

Formal training in robotic utilization and Two (2) years of recent operating room experience with robotic procedures
