Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for an Operations Coordinator/ Technical Training Coordinator to be based in Wayne Michigan. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for day-to-day operational support across all functional areas within the Manufacturing Plant. Demonstrated experience supporting Manufacturing Operations as well as experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:

The ideal candidate will have at least three years' experience in an operations coordinator or similar role.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Assist with project communication and documentation
  • Assist with Shipping, Purchasing, and Receiving functions. Transacting orders, cutting/closing PO's, and scheduling.
  • Facilitate communications and presentations for various meetings, roundtables, and townhall.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials and presentations to include: orientations, annual compliance, and safety trainings
  • Partner with Human Resources and Maintenance departments to lead facility improvement projects
  • Manage employee engagement activities to include: luncheons, holiday celebrations, and outreach initiatives
  • Support various departments in administrative functions, including electronic employee file management system
  • Support human resources on recruitment, compliance, training and development tasks
  • Supports Lean and Safety initiatives including Technical Training and Onboarding
  • Prepare reports, matrices, presentations, and communications as needed
  • Maintains technical training attendance and completion records, coordinates and schedules technical training, and prepares participants, materials, and training location to facilitate the successful delivery of training
  • Assist with employee relations with a customer service mindset
  • Collaborates with others
  • All other duties as assigned


          What you'll bring:



          • HSD/GED, with 3-5 years' equivalent experience
          • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
          • Knowledge of, and experience with, lean manufacturing processes
          • Strong attention to detail
          • Adaptability to changing business demands
          • Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced working environment
          • Ability to work under minimal supervision, plan workload, and establish priorities
          • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal

          • Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic


          Within 3 months, you'll:



          • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
          • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
          • Begin to prepare communication and training material
          • Gain an understanding of your team.


          Within 6 months, you'll:



          • Support various departments to ensure smooth operations
          • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and orientations
          • Hone your skills as it relates to the tools and systems you use in your daily role
          • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities related to Plant Operations


          Within 12 months, you'll:



          • Assist with employee relations with a customer service mindset
          • Manage supporting multiple departments in report creation and presentations
