Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Long Range Stand-Off (LRSO) Mid-Level Configuration Manager for the Tenants Contract, supporting the Air Force Division at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB) at Eglin AFB, FL.

The U.S. Air Force is developing a new Long-Range Stand-Off (LRSO) nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience. Additional experience may be substituted for lack of degree.
  • Current Top Secret Security Clearance required (US Citizenship required).
  • Knowledge of management of data on DOD contracts including the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
  • Experience in configuration management associated with DoD contracts for the acquisition of systems
  • Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-61 and American National Standards Institute/Electronic Industries Alliance standard ANSI/EIA-649
  • Experience with Product Data Management software tools, e.g., Teamcenter

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with DoD Configuration management standards, policies, and processes
  • Generate and maintain program office Configuration Management policy and plans
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and DD 1692
  • Knowledge of Request for Variance (RFV) and DD 1694
  • Review and ensure adequacy of configuration management documentation submitted by contractors including Configuration Management Plans, Configuration Status Accounting Reports, ECPs and RFVs
  • Responsible for overseeing, organizing, and storing configuration management data in accordance with data management plans and procedures
  • Responsible for organizing and conducting program office Configuration Control Boards with program leadership including the generation of meeting minutes
  • Responsible for organizing program support and supporting contractor Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
  • Ensure that data for CCB is distributed for review by staff, and comments from the review are collected for presentation at CCBs
  • Interface and coordinate with multiple Integrated Product Teams comprised of diverse engineers to include software, mechanical and electrical engineers as well as other functionals including program management, logistics, and finance
  • Track approved changes from CCB disposition to implementation in the contract
  • Maintain a configuration management database for all proposed changes and ECPs
  • Conduct meetings with upper management to present status of configuration management activities
  • Prepare configuration management metrics reports and present to upper management
  • Participate in the development of training material and training of office staff
  • Support others with configuration management activity and ensure adherence to standards
  • Provide expertise and advice for improvement of configuration management processes
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, and presentation methods
  • Prepare and coordinate correspondence to and from external organizations
