Summary:

The Perioperative Business & Operations Manager reports directly to Director of Perioperative Services with a dotted line to CFO/COO.

This position coordinates and implements daily and long-term projects to meet the high demand of Perioperative Services: Operating Room PACU ECT Same Day Endoscopy Sterile Processing and Pain.

Responsible for planning organizing and controlling all Surgical Services cost center budgets scheduling activities capital resources in collaboration with the Director of Perioperative services.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for Meditech oversight in all areas through support and guidance to staff managing dictionaries surgical blocks reconciliation of all charges and oversees preference card building.
  • Oversees production and maintenance of department statistics. Reviews and analyzes statistics to determine effectiveness of the block booking system room utilization preference card completion and any other perioperative metric.
  • Works with the team to define opportunities to improve processes through rounding identifying trends offer solutions and works with team to implement change.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Monitors monthly operating budgets works closely with supply chain and Sterile Processing to assist in the standardization of supplies throughout the department.
  • Ensures that budgets reflect anticipated changes in volume and/or practice.
  • Develops capital budget for Perioperative Services in collaboration with the Director of Perioperative Services Physician partners and frontline staff.
  • Provides expense comparison and usage reports for the Director of Perioperative Services.
  • Will assume responsibilities for management of unit coordinators/secretaries and schedulers.
  • Works in a collegial environment with Directors managers and front-line staff.
  • Develops tracking systems to help measure and report progress on practice and quality improvements
  • Completes and stores accurate and timely data reports for all Perioperative Services
  • Processes correspondence presentations reports records and forms establishing priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Assist in special projects as requested
  • Attend department meetings
  • Responsible for reviewing / updating service line profitably and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Responsible for productivity and overtime management in conjunction with the Director of Perioperative Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Three-five years of management experience in a hospital setting.
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong computer proficiency required including Microsoft internet hospital information systems

  • Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.
  • Responds to requests in a timely manner.

EDUCATION


    Bachelor's Degree in Management Nursing or Health Care required
  • Master's Degree in Business Nursing or Health Care Administration preferred.
