Daikin Applied is seeking an ASME Engineering Manager. The ASME Manager will lead our ASME team in Staunton, VA. In this key role, you will supervise a team, ensuring the quality and compliance of metal-fabricated products with ASME standards. Location: Staunton, VA - Onsite

What you will do:



  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their growth while ensuring compliance with ASME codes and regulations
  • Own and drive ASME and related production objectives, ensuring products surpass ASME and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ASME Code Inspectors, and fabrication teams to ensure quality and safety
  • Oversee and maintain ASME and other certification systems, including welding and fabrication processes
  • Manage the preparation and retention of ASME QC records, welding documentation (e.g., WPS, PQR), and corrective action reports
  • Conduct annual reviews of ASME stamp certifications, ensuring compliance with Section I, IV, and VIII standards
  • Perform mechanical inspections aligned with ASME BPVC sections and engineering specifications
  • Collaborate closely with various departments, from Drafting to Welding and Assembly, ensuring quality across the board
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sustaining and new product development team to facilitate project milestone
  • Create and maintain standard work documentation
  • Develop and maintain operating budgets, ensuring resource optimization
  • Utilize cutting-edge tools such as Codeware's COMPRESS and P3 Engineering's VES, recognized for ASME pressure vessel design and compliance, to streamline operations

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience in manufacturing, welding, or metal fabrication).
  • Ensuring that all engineering designs, manufacturing processes, and products comply with ASME codes and standards while staying updated with code changes and implementing necessary adjustments to procedures and processes
  • 5+ years of experience managing ASME teams ensuring quality systems and audits, with a strong emphasis on ASME and AWS codes.
  • 5+ years in fabrication or manufacturing, with hands-on expertise in welding processes and inspection.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including weld symbols, and manage ASME-related documents.
  • Proficiency with tools and software recommended by ASME for pressure vessel design and analysis, such as COMPRESS and VES.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 7+ years of managerial experience in industrial fabrication of pressure vessel particularly in the HVAC industry or oil and gas
  • Experience leading a team of engineers and ASME-certified designers to develop, review pressure vessel designs that meet performance and regulatory requirements
  • Experience coordinating project timelines, delegating tasks, and ensuring that the team adheres to ASME standards from development to launch
  • Expertise in pressure vessels (ASME Section I, IV, VIII) and proficiency with relevant tools like ANSYS for analysis
  • Well-versed in ASME Section VIII
  • Practical experience with FEA and CFD methodologies, especially in fluid mechanics applications
