If so, the Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging is looking for a highly organized and ambitious part-time Senior Center Operator 1 to assist with the planning and implementation of a variety of fulfilling activities for our senior population. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Senior Center Operators plan and coordinate programs for older adults in group settings. These would include, but not limited to meals, socialization wellness programs, consumer education, group outings and bus trips. Events could be planned on or off-site, depending on the type of program and time of year. Center participants' lives are enhanced by participating in programs, which improve their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, up to 29.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • Hours worked, including starting/ending time may vary due to off-site activities and programs.
  • This position also includes pension benefits.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon or Schuylkill Counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
