Job Summary: Trauma Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) We are seeking an experienced Trauma NP or PA to join our team, providing high-quality care at both Southfield Providence Hospital and Novi Providence Hospital. Position Details: Shift Schedule: 3, 12-hour shifts per week (6:00 AM - 630 PM) Weekend Requirement: Approximately every other weekend Night Coverage: Rotation to nights of 3-4 shifts per week schedule block. Autonomy: As the sole provider during night shifts, you'll work independently with opportunities for bedside procedures Limited OR Time: Very minimal OR time due to the requirement for the APP to remain available for incoming traumas Preferred Qualifications: ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification At least 2 years of acute care experience with exposure to ICU patient management Ability to manage patients independently in a fast-paced environment Experience in trauma care is highly preferred Important Note: This position is not suitable for new graduates. While internal candidates who are new graduates may be considered for interviews, the level of autonomy required on night shifts makes experience essential. There may be potential opportunities for additional coverage shifts at Southfield Providence Hospital as needed. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures. - Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions. - Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. - Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care. Licensure / Certification / Registration: - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office. - Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office. - Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: - Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required. - Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: - 1 year of experience preferred. No additional preferences.
