Description

TMC, a LinQuest company, is seeking a Junior SATCOM Test Engineer to join the team in Colorado Springs, CO. An active Secret clearance is required.

The Junior SATCOM Test Engineer (T&E) will leverage advanced engineering and test methods/capabilities to automate system and subsystem capabilities for the Bounty Hunter SATCOM system solutions. This position will provide technical assistance documenting and presenting strategies/plans to leadership and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with the systems engineers and test team
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing test plans containing such information as type of test to be conducted, facilities required, proposed schedule, and estimated cost of project
  • Assist with providing testing specifications to program-specific architecture documentation for the BH system.
  • Assist with providing recommendations on automated testing approaches for the BH system.
  • Provides test results to program configuration and architecture changes.
  • Procures test equipment and develops test plans to test out candidate software/hardware changes and technology concepts to determine the feasibility of integration.
  • Contribute to creating test plans, test reports, product assessments, and testing procedures to provide accurate, objective, and impartial verification of system tests in support of developmental and operational T&E.
  • Assist with writing tailored Test Plans and supports the development of the Master Test Strategy. Supports the execution of BH system readiness reviews.
  • Assist with providing Government leads with accurate, objective, and impartial verification of the compliance status of systems, subsystems, and applications.
  • Assist with providing support to ensure effective capacity planning and reporting to enable the prioritization of testing tasks and focus testing resources on critical priorities.
  • Contribute to Test Reports per project to document lessons learned after testing and all other applicable information for the SPO and mission partners/users.
  • Assist with implementing Test tools and DevOps for testing analysis.


Required Skills and Experience:




  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related technical field


  • 0 - 2 years of test and evaluation experience
  • 1+ years of experience in engineering disciplines, test procedures and processes, and creating test plans and reports
  • 0-2 years of experience in the following:

    • Systems integration and systems engineering
    • Space-ground testing activities
    • Participating in Operational Assessments; Experience with User Acceptance Testing;
    • MBTE experience.
    • Space-related T&E experience
    • JIRA
    • Test Management Tool
    • MATLAB, ModelCenter
    • Use of model based system engineering concepts
    • Space and ground systems


  • Familiarity with component and subsystem reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis to fulfill Test Plans.
  • Experience with preparing and reviewing test plans containing such information as type of test to be conducted, facilities required, proposed schedule, and estimated cost of project
  • Experience with coordinating test requirements with fellow engineers or subject matter specialists, other organizations for required tests or facilities
  • Experience with analyzing and evaluating technical data including instrumentation readings, calculations, deficiency reports, etc. to ensure valid results or obtain weaknesses or failures encountered and probable causes, suggested modification and design changes
  • Experience with analyzing design and specification proposals of manufacturers to ascertain that they meet specified general requirements; makes recommendations as to feasibility of designs, and other technical phases proposed
  • Knowledge of instrumentation systems, data collection and reduction techniques, commercial and military standards, and use of management information systems necessary to facilitate testing and evaluation
  • Proven ability in applying data analysis techniques

Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Working knowledge of Software Define Radios
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • DoD IAT Level II must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Exposure with agile/scrum design processes
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering or Digital Engineering


Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from approximately $71,000 to $100,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
