POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing duties using and managing database systems, data management software, word processing software, and some general clerical duties, supporting various engineering departments as needed. This includes performing a wide range of clerical and administrative duties, coordinating information within the department for Department Manager, to be utilized to benefit the overall department's needs. The position will be required to perform word processing, spreadsheet development and use, as well as, the development and management of shipyard unique databases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Scanning service as required.
  • Maintain Engineering Department's electronic library.
  • Operate a PC and utilize spreadsheet, database, graphic, flow chart, organization chart and word processing software.
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings, as directed.
  • Provide some general clerical assistance, as directed.
  • Ability to type or create reports/project documentation in a final format from rough notes or drafts.
  • Assist with bid proposal preparation.
  • Responsible for coordination of technical deliverables and documentation to the customer
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Enter Customized Bill of Material (CBOM) into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for engineering departments.
  • Check the Engineering Forecast Data Base (EFDB) to Customized Bill of Material (CBOM) CBOM material variances and identify to Engineering Leads.
  • Use of shipyard unique database/modeling system (Ship Constructor) for export of Customized Bill of Material (CBOM) to other Engineering databases.
  • A familiarity with Auto-Cad and Auto-Cad developed drawings is desired but not required.
  • Be able to follow detailed instructions and processes for creating Standard Part Numbers (SPN)
  • Management of vendor delivered information and drawings including tracking and reporting status.
  • Hardware Problem Reporting (HPR) Processing
  • Fabricated and procured material disposition processing, tracking, and reporting
  • Review and validation of stock part requirements and status.
