About the Job

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: Successful candidates are expected to undertake high-quality research activities. These activities include ongoing research by the candidate, fostering the development of other faculty's research in the school, mentoring doctoral candidates in finance, and working with scientific communities and scholarly journals in the field.

TEACHING ACTIVITIES: Successful candidates are expected to teach in the area of finance. This may include teaching undergraduates, MBA students, PhD students, business executives and in other Carlson School of Management educational programs.

SERVICE ACTIVITIES: Successful candidates are expected to take part in the full range of departmental, school and University service activities appropriate to the tenure track appointment of that rank.

Qualifications

Candidates should have excellent prospects for scholarly achievements in the area of finance; high quality work in progress or, in the case of a candidate already holding an Assistant Professor position, demonstrated research achievements; evidence of and a commitment to quality teaching; ability to interact effectively with others and make a meaningful contribution to the department and the School; and a PhD in finance, economics or related field.

About the Department

The Carlson School Finance Department focuses on understanding financial decisions, markets, and institutions. Faculty research in these areas is internationally known and has been published in the best finance and economics journals. The department is committed to quality teaching at the undergraduate, MBA MSF, and PhD level.
