PurposeAdminister the graduate program in the Department of Special Education through the effective delivery of programs and services for graduate students. The Graduate Program Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for graduate students and as the liaison between the graduate students, the College of Education, and the Graduate School. Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree and five years' experience as a Graduate Coordinator at UT Austin or an equivalent institution. Capacity to work independently without substantial guidance. High standards, professional demeanor, professional communication skills, and the ability to compose accurate and timely correspondence. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish a good working relationship with graduate students. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to organize, prioritize, and report on competing projects. Must be able to set and meet deadlines as well as work regular hours and arrive to work punctually on a routine basis. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of university policies and procedures; proficiency in the following UT systems: *DEFINE/*NRRECS/*GSADM, EASI, NRECS, and FRMS; Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or higher in a related field. More than five years of experience administering or coordinating a program, at least three of which involved serving as a graduate coordinator. Experience and familiarity with The University of Texas at Austin, its policies and procedures. Evidence of effective communication skills and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to prioritize and track tasks; strong interpersonal skills; ability to write reports and create planning documents. Salary Range$60,000 + depending on qualifications Working ConditionsTypical office environment.Limited supervision from the Graduate Adviser, Department Chair, Dean, or their delegate.
