Description:

Position Summary
The Immune Imaging group at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to conduct research with the group. The research group specializes in nanoscale immunobiophysics.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Developing Quantitative and Multiplexed Superresolution Imaging: We specialize in utilizing protein-based and small-molecule probes to perform single-molecule localization microscopy.
  • 2. Investigating Cytokine Packaging, Transport, and Secretion: We focus on understanding the nanoscale inter- and intracellular communications of immune cells using single-molecule and superresolution imaging techniques.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications
    Applicants must have a PhD.

    Applicants with the following backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply:
    • Optics
    • Biophysics
    • Engineering
    • Fluorescence Microscopy
    • Cell Biology


    Preferred Qualifications
    The research group is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including:
    • Nikon N-STORM Superresolution System
    • CrestOptics DeepSIM Multispot Lattice Structured Illumination Microscope
    • BSL2 Tissue Culture Suite, qPCR, Nanodrop
    • Dedicated Computing Workstations
    It would be benefificial if the applicant had experience with the aforementioned technologies as well as in the fields of Pathology, Hematology/Oncology, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
