The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department.

Job Summary

The Instructional Services Coordinator Sr. is key in enhancing instructional practices and supporting students during field experiences and student teaching, including the Student Teacher Intern Certificate. This position develops and refines instructional content, assists with program accreditation, trains students, staff, adjunct faculty, and program supervisors, and addresses challenges students face in their teaching experiences. The coordinator will create and update handbooks, align assessments with teaching standards, refine policies and procedures, and oversee the assignment and training of Program Supervisors.

Essential Functions

30% - Support and Training for Students, Staff, and Supervisors: Provides guidance, training, and support to students, particularly those working under a Student Teacher Intern Certificate, and staff, adjunct faculty, and program supervisors. Addresses challenges and assists students struggling in their teaching experiences
30% - Instructional Content Development and Refinement: Develops, updates, and refines instructional materials and resources for field experiences and student teaching, with a focus on alignment with Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) standards and program accreditation requirements, including other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall goals of the program and department.
15% - Creation and Management of Field Experience/Student: Teaching Handbooks: Creates, updates, and manages handbooks that outline policies, procedures, and best practices for field experiences and student teaching
15% - Assessment and Evaluation Alignment Identifies and improves required assessments, ensuring alignment with InTASC standards and oversees the evaluation process for field experiences and student teaching.
10% - Program Accreditation and Certification Support: Assists with curriculum development and provides information and guidance related to program accreditation, certification requirements, and department processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and two (2) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. A current K-12 Professional Teaching Certificate
B. Five (5) Years K-12 teaching experience
C. A master's degree in Education or a Master's Degree in another field with 18 hours of graduate-level education coursework.
D. Experience mentoring student teachers and new teachers.
E. Experience related to field experiences, including student teaching.
F. Experience as a Special Education Teacher

Special Working Conditions

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements. Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
