Description

The Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Stony Brook University invites applications for three new tenure-track faculty positions to lead research programs in neuroscience and participate in the Department's educational mission. Two positions are at the assistant professor level and one is at the associate/full professor level.

Our Department is home to a diverse and collaborative group of basic and translational researchers. We seek exceptional and creative candidates with a PhD or MD/PhD degree to establish and lead an innovative, laboratory-based research program. For all the positions, we expect candidates to have postdoctoral research experience and demonstrate strong academic credentials in a specific research field. For the associate/full professor position we expect a proven track record of securing funding. Teaching experience is also preferred for participation in the departmental educational mission and teaching assignments. Ideal candidates will supervise postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students in research, drawing on the broad range of expertise within our faculty for support and collaboration. We encourage applications from qualified researchers in any area of neuroscience research, including but not limited to molecular, biochemical, metabolic, genetic, synaptic physiology, pharmacology, and systems neuroscience. The successful candidates will join a large, inclusive and outstanding community of neuroscientists at Stony Brook University and will have the opportunity to actively participate in institutional strategic initiatives on aging, addiction and artificial intelligence (neuroAI).
