We are seeking a skilled Metrology Technician with experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning work, performing measurements, and reporting out the results using a variety of portable metrology equipment. Your technical knowledge will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and supporting engineering teams in product development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare job files prior to execution of work that will encompass all the necessary CAD that is required to be inspected from the work instructions.

  • Perform in process inspections on flight hardware using methods that ensure accurate data collection.

  • Fit survey data according to datum reference frames called out on drawings.

  • Generate reports and upload to work order.

  • Handle preparations for parts requiring non-contact inspection scanning methods.

  • Perform real time alignments.

  • Generate, document, track and help complete nonconformance reports.

  • Provide inspection time estimates.

  • Maintain equipment and keep up with calibration schedules.

  • Provide feedback for process improvement.

  • Maintain standard configuration control on files and job records.

  • Perform all work in accordance with process specifications and work instructions.

  • Safely work within an industrial environment

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience using Laser Trackers, Romer Arms, and Laser Radar.

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in dimensionalinspection.

  • Outstanding blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 or 2009 or 2018 standard.

  • Understanding of thermal expansion of materials and how to apply scale to an instrument.

  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.

  • Strong computer software skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Suite Programs.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects and to meet completion dates.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience using Spatial Analyzer and PC-DMIS software.

  • Experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components preferred.

  • Prior CAD software experience (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo Parametric, Solidworks, etc...)

  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
