The Salvation Army has a Duty Driver position in Downtown, Des Moines, IA available for the ideal candidate.

This position would require driving a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up and transport beneficiaries and/or employees from and to specified destinations and/or deliver packages, inter-officemail.etc.as requested by supervision, by performing the following duties.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Transport beneficiaries to/from work therapy assignments.
• Transport Salvation Army personnel to/from official business.
• Responsible for the safety and security of assigned vehicle (including securing of vehicle at end of day).
• Daily inspections of air, water, oil, etc. to maintain equipment in good operating equipment.
• Responsible to promptly report to immediate supervisor all accidents involving assigned vehicle, personal injury, or property damage.
• Act as personal representative of The Salvation Army and ensure that all passengers are treated courteously. Immediately report any problem in pick-ups to immediate supervisor through the dispatcher/supervisor.
• Wear provided back guard when doing any substantial lifting or moving.
• Personally maintain a neat appearance, including clean clothing.
• Responsible for loading and unloading of assigned vehicle when making deliveries.
• Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army
