Starting pay - $26.40/hour+ plus depending on YOE plus applicable premium pay for Weekend Program The Weekend Program offers a weekend only shift schedule with enhanced compensation. The Weekend Program is a 12 month commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends in a 12 month period beginning with first shift worked. Travel allowance is available for eligible employees travelling greater than 75 miles one way. Premium paid part-time and full-time positions available. https://hr.virginia.edu/careers-uva/uva-health-career-programs/uva-health-weekend-program Shift Schedules for Full Time .90 FTE - Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 12 hour shifts - 36 hrs per week, 52 weeks per yr, 1872 hrs per yr - 48 scheduled weekends must be worked in 12 month period Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to gathering needed supplies and instrumentation for surgical procedures according to the surgeon preference card. Maintains the sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Is constantly vigilant to the adherence of aseptic technique by all team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: HS Diploma or equivalent. Graduated from accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program. Experience: Three years of experience required. Licensure: BLS required. Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire. Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (The National Center for Competency Testing) required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: passing instruments, lifting heavy instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull >50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
