Lab Specialist Intermediate employees engage in laboratory research by performing complex lab and research related tasks. They are distinguished from Lab Specialist employees by their additional responsibilities related to developing, designing, and conducting increasingly complex research projects. They perform complex tasks independently. They have the authority to adapt methods and procedures to meet the needs of research. They may supervise support personnel and manage budgets.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience:6 years of experience in a lab technician role. Master's degree may substitute for required experience. 9 years of lab-related experience accepted in lieu of degree. Licensure: None. Experience: Some experience in the molecular or cellular biology laboratory is preferred. Preferred Skills: Mouse breeding, genotyping and maintenance Bioinformatics knowledge Molecular assays (RT-PCR, qPCR, Western blot, Immunofluorescence etc) Cell culture Master's in any Biology field TO APPLY: Please apply Here, and search for R0064478. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
