Perform skilled work on a journey level combining activities in various mechanical and building trade areas of endeavor such as installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures. Work is distributed to take advantage of particular skills; normally incumbents perform work at various times in each of the areas indicated. Work is subject to inspection for conformance to specifications and accepted standards of the trade but is primarily reviewed through observation of results. Functional contacts include co-workers, other service department employees, administrative personnel at the job locations, university staff, students and building occupants. This position provides daily maintenance of residential facilities which consist of living space for approximately 544 students. This includes living areas, bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms in addition to 3 stand-alone apartments. This position is also responsible for maintaining and repairing boilers, pumps, fan coils, air handler units, etc. This position also helps other trades personnel in other Auxiliary buildings as needed to repair pumps, boiler, air handlers, electrical and plumbing issues. Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $20.22-$26.94 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
