Under general supervision of the Director of Sponsored Research Admin in the Department of Psychiatry, the incumbent will serve as Sponsored Projects Fund Manager, providing pre-award and/or post-award support to approximately 25 Principal Investigators in the Department of Psychiatry. The Sponsored Projects Business Office is split into three teams: 1) Pre-Award Team, 2) Post-Award Team, and 3) Department Reconciliation (Default/VA IPAs/JPAs etc.). The employee will be assigned to one of the teams and may be re-assigned as needed based on business or team needs. Provides fiscal management, financial analysis and administration of a full range of extramural grants, contracts, subcontracts, service agreements (more than 30 awards from multiple, distinct sponsoring entities, annual direct cost of $10 million). Responsible for major functions and tasks of pre- and post-award administration. Work with Principal Investigators (PI's) to provide successful financial management of multiple/various fund sources. Independently identify problems, troubleshoot and resolve variances, formulate solutions and/or make recommendations in accordance with departmental, university, and agency regulations. Serve as Department ECERT (Electronic Certification of Effort and Reporting Tool) coordinator and provide guidance and training for effort reporting compliance. Develop and analyze budgets, along with providing guidance and assistance to faculty and staff in financial management and proposal submissions. Create complex situational analyses for PIs with large multi-institutional research projects to find the best solutions for various scenarios of funding, staffing, and collaborative contacts. Analyze and summarize complex accounting data and resolve complex problems for reporting. Complete faculty salary worksheets for assigned PIs as a part of yearly faculty budgeting process. Verify varying funding circumstances and develop multiple projection scenarios for each PI to ensure a full year's salary for assigned faculty members. Assist PIs with negotiating salaries with the department. Follow up on correct entry in Personnel Payroll System to minimize errors. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
