Job Summary:

Operate and maintain mobile ready mix plant, operate loader and scale for material sales at various locations, drive ready mix truck, assist dispatching trucking fleet, order materials, monitor material usage. Operate other equipment and perform other duties as assigned related to ready mix production and sales.

This position can be based out of any of our East region locations.

Main Responsibilities:

* Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
* Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
* Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
* Review production costs and product quality, and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
* Order required material in advanced to complete assigned task based on construction schedule as provided by construction superintendent and/or project manager
* Maintain yard logs and assist area manager with plant log
* Ensure the plant is properly operating in accordance with all applicable regulations
* Perform repairs on compressors, motors, belts, and preventative maintenance such as greasing and corrosion control
* Coordinate with construction superintendent/project managers with trucks and outside hires and collect outside truck timecards
* Ensure accurate quantities are coded to the correct job and phase codes
* Assist in supervising employees in the plant, quarry, trucking and scale operations

Education:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
* Valid Class A or Class B Commercial drivers' license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required

Skills:

* Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training in operation of ready mix plant preferred
* ACI Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:

* Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
* Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
* Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
* Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
* Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance
* Regularly required to work from a seated position operating concrete batch plant for long periods
* Frequent exposure to loud noise
* Occasionally exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
* Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
