Summary Description of Position This role will work through the Electrical Maintenance Group having a dotted line to the area's Automation Engineering group. The candidate's skills will include programming, maintaining, and repairing field devices such as level probes, belt scales, and analog and digital sensors. As part of the Electrical Maintenance team, the candidate will verify that the devices operate correctly in the field and with PLC systems. The candidate will also work with the area Automation Engineer to attain the skill of observing plant PID loops and graduate to the role of loop modifications under the guidance of the Automation Engineer. The position requires travel into the field in order to troubleshoot field equipment, make repairs, install new devices (as needed), view and modify PID's (as needed), and train plant operators on the use and utilization of the system to its full potential.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, Continuing education in related coursework is desirable but not required.

Experience: Experience in the Aggregate or related industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (The below items are preferred, but not required)



  • Must be able to work safely with hand and power tools
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting sensors.
  • PLC Troubleshooting and Programming Experience required (AB and Siemens) preferred.
  • Operating Electrical switches and fuse disconnects
  • Experience in PLC PID loops preferred.
  • Experience in installing and changing software.
  • Experience in HMI and PC installation and troubleshooting including software.
  • Experience in interlocking electrical equipment.
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting VFD's and Soft starts.
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting protective relays.
  • Experience in troubleshooting fiber and Ethernet networks.
  • Experience in VFD, PLC, Soft start, relay and Sensor PM's.
  • Experience in installing, maintenance and troubleshooting belt scales.
  • Experience in calibration/scaling of belt scales and motor amps in PLC and HMI.
  • Experience in installing and maintenance on metal detectors.
  • Experience in crusher software installation preferred.
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting network cameras.
  • Experience in installing and maintenance of flow/density meters preferred.
