Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty position in Organic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida International University invites applications to fill a full-time open rank tenure-track faculty position in Organic Chemistry starting in August 2025. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous, extramurally funded research program with substantial graduate and undergraduate student involvement, and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Organic Chemistry, plus additional courses in their area of specialization. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or an allied field and research experience pertinent to Organic Chemistry are required; postdoctoral experience is expected. Qualified candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply. For applicants of a senior rank position (Associate Professor or Professor), preference will be given to those having current or forthcoming extramural research funding transferable to FIU. The ideal candidate is expected to have publications, awards/honors and to demonstrate a clear indication of how they will contribute to FIU's Top 50 ranking.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, with 38 faculty from 13 different countries, has dynamic and growing Ph.D. programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry supporting over 120 graduate students, as well as a vibrant undergraduate program with over 100 B.A. and B.S. graduates each year.
