Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil 3D Designer in one of our multiple office locations: Indianapolis, IN; Charlotte, NC; St. Louis, MO; Lisle, IL; Denver, CO; Frisco, TX. In this role, you will work with the Energy & Utilities team in the drafting, design, permitting and construction administration of industrial projects. Focus will primarily be in oil & gas, wind, solar and utility projects.
Job Activities:


  • Preparing topographic and civil alignment/profile and utility drawings, as well as occasional work on other engineering discipline's drawings.
  • Preparing civil based drawings, as well as occasional facility and/or process piping drawings.
  • Preparing easement exhibits with guidance from a licensed surveyor.


Specific Requirements include:


  • Associates or Technical Degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Design, or similar field
  • 10+ years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and prepare construction drawings.
  • Flexibility to perform design, drafting and recognize the importance of meeting stringent deadlines in an often fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively plan & manage time commitments on multiple concurrent projects
  • Candidate should be team-oriented, highly motivated with a strong work ethic, and have the ability to work well with minimal direction
  • Strong understanding of CAD standards, features and annotation styles, line styles, and drawing setup
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of project team members


Desired Experience includes:


  • Oil & Gas or renewable energy industry experience
  • MicroStation experience
  • Experience processing survey data
  • Experience processing lidar scan data and point clouds
  • Bluebeam
  • Industrial mechanical piping experience
