Associated Electric is looking for a talented and passionate Power Plant Operations and Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. As the Power Plant Operations and Maintenance Technician, you will oversee maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our gas turbine power plant. This role involves a combination of operational oversight, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance management. You will also collaborate with contractors, manage work orders, prepare financial reports, and uphold safety and environmental compliance standards. Additionally, there may be occasions when you'll provide support to other peaking plants within our network.

What You'll Be doing:

  • Operate the gas turbine power plant to meet dispatch requirements.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot Distributed Control System (DCS).
  • Monitor unit operation through periodic inspections and system checks.
  • Supervise and schedule contractors for plant maintenance.
  • Utilize CMMS systems for requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Oversee NERC operational requirements and record-keeping.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts for the gas turbine power plant.
  • Perform environmental compliance tasks, including emissions readings and samples.
  • Manage O&M budget and provide budget projections.
  • Develop and input project depot forms and manage projects.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees and contractors.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience with maintenance and operations of gas turbine power plants.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems, T3000, and/or Ovation preferred.
  • Proficient in using mechanical and electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
  • Self-starter capable of working and problem-solving independently.
  • Strong scheduling and contractor supervision skills.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to research and implement efficient ways to improve plant operations.
  • Proficient in lockout/tag-out systems.
