Position title: Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Epidemiology Salary range:
Faculty appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. According to UC and FSPH standards, the FSPH fully covered 9-month salary will be composed of a component, ranging between $78,200 - $101,400. Other components of pay are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Any off-scale salary components are dependent upon the candidate's experience and final approval by the Chancellor. Application Window Open date: September 16, 2024 Next review date: Sunday, Dec 1, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Jan 31, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The UCLA Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health is undertaking a search for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Epidemiology Candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, DrPH or equivalent) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Population Health Sciences, or a related field, a strong track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications, experience teaching and training undergraduate and graduate students, and a commitment to epidemiology and public health. The candidate is expected to bring or develop a successful external-funded research program in their specialty area. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in innovative and productive research that will enable them to become a recognized scholar in epidemiology methodology. Since its inception, the UCLA Department of Epidemiology has established itself as a leader in epidemiologic theory and methods, applied epidemiology, and public health. The Department also has strong research and training relationship with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health as well as with national and international institutions. The Fielding School of Public Health is located on the main UCLA campus in direct proximity to the other health sciences and professional schools (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, and the College of Letters and Science) offering shared resources.
