The Opportunity:

Join the Facilities and Business Operations team as a Mail Clerk III. In this essential role, you will ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of mail and supplies across campus. This position handles courier services for regular, accountable, and time-sensitive mail to UCF departments, student residences, and satellite campuses. You will be responsible for staying updated on USPS procedures and customer preferences to ensure all mail is managed and delivered effectively.

Responsibilities:


  • Deliver regular, accountable, and time-sensitive mail pieces and supplies to and from UCF departments, student residences, and satellite campuses. Ensure proper handling of mail in accordance with USPS procedures and customer preferences.

  • Sort and stage incoming USPS and inter-departmental mail. Keep current with UCF community updates, including personnel changes, special requests, and temporary and permanent address changes. Perform tasks with accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Operate high-speed mail metering machinery and prepare outgoing mail, including first-class, bulk, pre-sort, international, express, certified, registered, and inter-campus mail. Ensure proper completion of postal forms and adherence to execution procedures.

  • Assist with collecting and distributing materials for Surplus Property, the Print Shop, and Retail Operations. Track and reconcile parcels or items using various systems. Communicate with Business Services customers to ensure accurate tracking and timely distribution of materials. Adhere to safety and data security regulations.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 4 years of relevant experience in mail handling or a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in managing and processing various types of mail.

  • Strong knowledge of USPS procedures for managing regular, accountable, and time-sensitive mail.

  • Familiarity with high-speed mail metering machinery and the preparation of different categories of outgoing mail, such as first-class, bulk, pre-sort, international, express, certified, and registered mail.

  • Experience in a role involving courier services, including the delivery of mail and supplies to multiple locations, such as university departments, student residences, and satellite campuses.

  • Demonstrated skill in accurately and efficiently sorting and staging incoming mail in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and consistency.

  • Experience in providing logistics support, including coordinating with other Business Services areas and addressing customer needs related to material distribution and tracking.

  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges related to mail processing, equipment operation, and logistical support, ensuring adherence to safety and data security regulations.

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with UCF departments, student residents, and other stakeholders. Ability to manage customer preferences and handle inquiries professionally.


Health Assessment Required:

UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
