General Summary of the Position: The Cost Controller Accountant works for the Charleston, WV office and reports to the Reginal Manager, primary responsibilities are performing general accounting duties, including overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and other various functions related to project management. Position will make sure all project related materials are fully documented and assist in assuring that contractual requirements are met.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
  • Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers to reduce operating cost and leverage buying power
  • Must possess strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with all staff levels
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency



Required Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent, combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work is a plus
  • Minimum Five (5) years in an accounting operation or equivalent
  • Previous managerial experience a plus


Work Context/Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time;
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
