Position Description


Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of the Pacific invites applications for part-time, non-tenure-track positions, to teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Engineering and related disciplines. Applicants with qualifications to teach any undergraduate, graduate, and non-major courses in engineering or research methods are invited to apply. An MS or doctorate degree is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must have an MS or doctorate degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

  • Ideal candidates will have prior college-level teaching experience, a positive attitude, and proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations, and a commitment to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work is primarily performed in standard office and classroom environments, with the use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work is performed primarily during standard business hours, but evening courses could be assigned based on the applicant's availability.
Hiring Range $9,000-$12,000 ($3,000 per unit). We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer
