https://nursing.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant Professor of Nursing is a 9-month, tenure-track, full-time faculty position. This position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; conducting research leading to high-impact peer-reviewed publications and presentations; supervising students' scholarly activities such as undergraduate honors research, master's thesis, and Doctor of Nursing Practice scholarly project; and serving professional organizations, the department, College, and university. On campus site presence required.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

The position reports to the Executive Director of the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing in the College of Education and Health Professions. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctoral degree from an accredited university in nursing or a related field (e.g., DNP, EdD, DrPH) conferred by the start of employment

  • Eligible to hold an unencumbered RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and secured by the first date of employment

  • Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Evidence of exemplary performance and promise of success in research/scholarly activity

  • Evidence of and/or promise of effective teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research doctorate in nursing (i.e., DSN, DNSc, PhD)

  • Innovative research agenda in the healthcare services

  • Experience working with federally funded projects or equivalent supporting high-impact research

  • Ability to develop an independent and collaborative research agenda

  • Ability to secure extramural funding

  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
