Summary:

Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supervision and coordination of Production and Packaging departments within the specified shift.

Responsibilities:



  • Directly supervise 20 - 50 employees in the production/packaging/repack departments.
  • Maintain a safe work environment while producing a safe quality product.
  • Report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality for the products produced and adhere to company/customer specifications.
  • Establish effective employee relations, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve established departmental goals.
  • Comply with product scheduling needs.
  • Control hourly employee hours worked, including but not limited to overtime.
  • Maintain an effectively-trained workforce.
  • Interpret company policies to workers.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of department, line, or team.
  • Analyze production and packaging problems and assist team members in solving them.
  • Maintain and monitor process control paperwork in accordance with HACCP.
  • Ensure accurate paperwork.
  • Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment.
  • Confers with other Supervisors and Leads to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Abides by and enforces Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a production supervisor role. Experience in the food industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with packaging cooked products is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from interested parties.
  • Experience with an ERP preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work independently or in a project team environment and within a defined deadline.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
