Overview

As a product leader, we invite you to join Esri in shaping the future of products and technologies that connect customers with world-class GIS apps. This position will lead product management for MapViewer, a web-based mapping application that enables users to create, view, and share interactive maps and spatial data and is at the core of our ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise software. You will change, reinvent, and expand the way our customers use geographic data and empower them to use GIS across their organizations and to the world.

As someone with expertise in software product management, you have experience and demonstrated success in providing leadership, strategic direction, recognizing market opportunities, and sparking innovation. You prioritize customer interaction, serve as the product expert, build strong team relationships, and influence the development priorities of the product. Your style fosters collaboration and drives the product's growth, success, and value to the customer.

Responsibilities



  • Lead by setting the vision, product definition, strategy, tactics, and priorities
  • Establish, refine, and mature business models, pricing, and licensing by working closely with cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Guide product features and capability development using key performance metrics and customer-product engagement patterns
  • Monitor and synthesize customer requirement from various feedback channels and share with the development team to collaborate and prioritize on the product's direction
  • Communicate the vision of the MapViewer and other apps at conferences and events
  • Collaborate with global business development, the partner team, distributors, and product marketing to develop and execute go-to-market strategies
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of current capabilities and the product roadmap
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing teams generating a variety of marketing materials, such as social media content, public and internal communications about product updates and events, blogs, product web pages, and more
  • Collaborate with Events and Marketing teams and other stakeholders to create content and messaging for major Esri events, such as Esri User Conference, Esri Developer Summit, Esri Partner Conference, and more
  • Maintain written documentation of customer interviews and product requirements in alignment with existing Product Management processes and systems


Requirements



  • 2+ years of experience in a technical or product-related role, such as engineering, product management, development, support, and more
  • Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through presentations, to a diverse range of stakeholders from your team to customers to executive leadership in person and remote
  • Accurately understand and document user feedback about business needs, feature capabilities, workflows, and values and represent them to software engineers in the form of actionable requirements and specific "problems to solve"
  • Maintain the agility to balance passion for continuous improvement and user advocacy with the diligence and patience required to support extended or shifting implementation timelines
  • Comfortable navigating highly ambiguous situations and relying on professional judgment without direct oversight
  • Technical expertise, ideally with GIS, web services, and SaaS
  • Active listening skills and curiosity about other people's work, experience, and perspective
  • Ability to travel 10%-20% of the time to customer sites, conferences, trade shows, and other strategic meetings and events
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to technology, GIS, or business


Recommended Qualifications



  • Experience with ArcGIS software, GIS, Web GIS, and location-based content
  • Experience and certifications with the in Pragmatic Marketing Framework
  • Master's degree or higher in technology, GIS, business

$86,528 $151,424 USD
