The Role

The Warehouse Supervisor (Stockroom Supervisor) is responsible for supervising the receiving and material handling functions of the warehouse in a safe and economical manner. You will direct and perform the duties of workers who record PO receipts, prepare items for intercompany transit, replenish production, and load/unload trucks. You will manage storage requirements and is the direct point of contact for all warehouse related operations. In addition, you will provide training and facilitate teamwork to meet expectations for customer service, safety, productivity, computer transaction integrity, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, and overall team harmony.

Duties

  • Establish structure by assigning responsibilities, delegating authority, and selecting, orienting, and training direct reports.
  • Communicate issues and priorities to team members and escalate to manager as needed.
  • Lead warehouse staff by coaching, counseling, motivating and disciplining as needed to maintain high employee morale and foster teamwork and cooperation.
  • Ensure work is performed according to SOPs and work instructions.
  • Unload and receive inbound shipments and perform receipt transaction and physically transfer materials designated locations.
  • Contact carrier representative and complete all paperwork for internal and external logistics.
  • Requisition and store warehouse supplies at designated levels.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jacks for material handling and loading/unloading trucks.
  • Responsible for warehouse safety, including safety related training, coaching, safety incident reporting and follow up.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping through practicing 5S and completing 5S audits of warehouse areas. Establish and enforce procedures and set expectations for warehouse organization and cleanliness.
  • Strive for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve the operation. Incorporate staff suggestions, investigate customer complaints, and deviations from standard work and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Back up all warehouse related areas of responsibility as needed.

Required Experience

  • Associate's Degree
  • 2 years of experience in a warehouse operation supervisory role.

    • OR High School Diploma PLUS 4 years of experience in a warehouse operation supervisory role.


  • Functional aptitude with Microsoft packages, ERP and Shipping systems.
  • FDA and ISO 13485 quality system experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory control processes and warehouse operations.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate required tools and equipment: Forklift, power jack, manual power jack, hand bander, stretch wrapper, and company truck.

Preferred Experience

  • Lean manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.

Work Schedule

  • This is an onsite schedule position based in Montgomery, AL.
  • The schedule is: M-Th 7:00am - 4:30pm, F 7:00am - 11:00am.
