Position description

The Samueli School of Engineering has the need for part-time lecturers for graduate courses in the Master of Engineering program in various areas such as entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship for engineers, engineering capstone projects, biomedical engineering, digital and image signal processing, high speed communication circuits and systems, machine learning, energy systems, and machines and systems.

Positions are generally for one quarter at a time and are for varying percentages, depending on the number and nature of courses assigned. Information on the program can be found at: http://meng.eng.uci.edu/.

Each application should contain:

  • description of teaching interests
  • all available teaching evaluations, and
  • names of three (3) references who are available to write letters of reference on short notice


In addition, a statement of inclusive excellence is required - a self-statement that explains your contributions to inclusive excellence in the areas of service and teaching. Include specific examples of your past/potential activities, including a brief discussion of the outcomes of activities engaged in, and how this influences future planning and potential advancement of UCI's Commitment to Inclusive Excellence.

Salaries are commensurate with technical and teaching experience and/or level of education. While most appointments are for a single course, in some cases there may be opportunities to teach additional courses.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

MS or PhD in the field of Engineering

3-5 years teaching experience
