Description

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the research groups of Prof. Simran Singh and Prof. Jyoti Katoch, Department of Physics, Carnegie Mellon University. The research project will focus on studying charge/spin transport, magnetic proximity effects, and magnetization dynamics in heterostructures and devices consisting of layered quantum materials. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in experimental condensed-matter physics or a related field, and preferably will have experience in nanofabrication; assembly of heterostructures of two-dimensional materials; magnetotransport measurement; and/or magnetic resonance techniques. The start date of the position is negotiable but could be immediate. There will be opportunities to collaborate actively with an interdisciplinary team of researchers from Center of Emergent Material - and NSF MRSEC center at The Ohio State University.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates will hold a Ph.D. in experimental condensed-matter physics or a related field, and preferably will have experience in nanodevice fabrication; mechanical assembly of heterostructures of layered materials; magnetotransport measurement; and magnetic resonance techniques.
