TS POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Typical Pay $29.84 Alutiiq Logistics and Maintenance Services, LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Alarm System Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of fire alarm systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. This role requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Maintenance: o Perform routine maintenance and inspections on fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly. o Test and replace faulty components, such as sensors, alarms, and wiring. o Inspect fire alarm equipment visually and replace defective components. o Check pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers and recharge or replace containers. o Ensure proper installation of wiring, detectors, control panels, and other fire alarm components. * Repair: o Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire alarm systems. o Repair or replace defective parts and components to restore system functionality. o Test initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitters. o Complete fire protection service orders in a timely manner to ensure equipment and systems are restored to a safe, normal working condition and function properly. o Perform fire protection service orders to repair deficiencies without extended delay, preventing further damage to facilities, ground structures, personal property, and installed equipment and systems. * Inspection: o Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. o Document inspection findings and recommend necessary repairs or improvements. * Documentation: o Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections. o Prepare reports detailing the work performed and any issues identified. * Emergency Response: o Respond to fire protection service orders within one (1) hour of receipt of call. o Continue work without interruption until the emergent condition is addressed. o Restore facilities, systems, and equipment to operable condition and ensure they function properly in accordance with OEM specifications. * Other: o Any other duties assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: o High school diploma or GED required. o Technical training or certification in fire alarm systems preferred. o Personnel working on fire protection systems must be certified per UFC 3-601-02 and shall be licensed in Washington DC as applicable. o Experience with various fire alarm brands and models is a plus. o Must possess valid driver's license o Current TS/SCI preferred, must possess minimum TS Clearance with ability to obtain SCI o Pursuant to Government Contract, you must be a U.S. citizen. * Skills: o Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and components. o Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. o Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics. o Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
